Introduction
Pass Georgia provides independent study tools for the Georgia real estate salesperson exam. This Privacy Policy covers the Pass Georgia website and the Pass Georgia app on iPhone, Android, and the web. The two handle information differently: the website has no accounts, while the app can sync study progress across devices when you sign in.
1. Information we collect
Website information
The website has no account registration, newsletter, payment form, or contact form. The answers, dates, notes, and calculator values you enter into website tools are not sent to us, and the tools are left out of the session replays described in section 4. Some tools save progress in your browser so it is available when you return. This can include flashcard review dates, glossary mastery, checklist items, mistake-tracker entries, and whether you dismissed a download prompt.
The website records a small set of first-party conversion events in hosting logs, such as starting or completing a practice preview, a broad score band, the sampled weak area, a download click, and the selected app store. These events contain no quiz answers, name, email address, advertising identifier, or cross-site tracking cookie. The website uses PostHog for product analytics, described in section 4, and runs no advertising scripts. If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include in the message.
App account information
When you create or use an app account, authentication can involve:
- Your name and email address.
- An email and password when you choose email sign-in.
- Account details provided by Google or Apple when you use those sign-in options.
- A unique account identifier used to secure and sync your information.
Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. We do not receive your Google or Apple password. You may also try the app as a guest. Guest use is limited, does not require personal information, and remains on the device.
Account status and support records
While you are signed in to an app account, the app records a small amount of account information in Firebase so we can provide the service and help you with support requests:
- Whether your account is on the free or paid plan, and when that last changed.
- Your device platform, app version, and when you last opened the app.
- When you sign in, and whether you used email, Google, or Apple.
- Whether you have purchased Premium, which store or checkout the purchase came from, and the product and purchase date, as confirmed by RevenueCat or Paddle.
These records are part of operating your account, not usage analytics, so they are kept whether or not Usage Analytics is turned on. They are not recorded for guest use, and they are deleted when you delete your account, except purchase records we must keep.
Study data and preferences
As you use the app, it can store information such as:
- Questions answered, selected answers, confidence ratings, and bookmarks.
- Study sessions, practice exam results, streaks, and readiness measures.
- Spaced-repetition, vocabulary, and math practice progress.
- Notes you create and question reports you submit.
- Your exam date, daily study goal, weak areas, and other study preferences.
Support information
If you contact support from the app, we collect the topic and message you submit together with your account email, account identifier, app version, platform, and operating-system version. These diagnostics help us investigate and respond to the request.
2. How we use information
We use information only as needed to operate and improve Pass Georgia, including:
- Creating and securing your account.
- Providing study features and personalizing your study plan.
- Syncing progress across devices when you sign in.
- Calculating streaks, accuracy, readiness, and review schedules.
- Processing purchases and restoring premium access.
- Responding to support requests and reviewing question reports.
- Diagnosing crashes, fixing bugs, preventing abuse, and improving performance.
- Measuring the anonymous website path from a practice preview to an app-store click.
- Measuring app feature use when you have enabled usage analytics.
3. How we store information
On your device
Website tool state is stored in your browser's local or session storage. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser. The app stores study data in a local SQLite database and keeps certain settings on the device, which allows core study features to work offline.
In the cloud
When you sign in to the app, account information and study data are stored in Google Firebase, including Cloud Firestore, so your progress can sync across devices. Data is associated with your authenticated account. Guest progress is not uploaded as an account sync record.
4. Analytics and crash diagnostics
Usage analytics
App usage analytics are off by default. If you enable Usage Analytics in the app's privacy settings, Firebase Analytics receives events about how app features are used. This is separate from the account status records described above. You can turn this off at any time. We send a one-way hashed account identifier for signed-in analytics rather than the raw Firebase account identifier.
Website analytics
The website uses PostHog to understand which pages are read and how visitors move toward the app. PostHog receives pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location, browser and device details, the conversion events described in section 1, and an identifier stored in a first-party cookie or local storage. PostHog may record masked session replays to help us find usability problems. Everything typed into a field is masked before it leaves your browser, and the practice questions, calculators, flashcards, checklists, and study planners are not recorded at all. Automatic click capture and surveys are turned off.
Crash and error reports
The app uses Sentry and Firebase Crashlytics to receive technical reports when something goes wrong. Reports can include an error message, stack trace, app version, operating system, device details, and the screen or operation involved. Sentry events are configured to exclude user, request, and free-form payload fields and to remove email addresses and Firebase-shaped account identifiers from retained diagnostic strings. We use diagnostic information to maintain app security and stability, not for advertising.
5. Third-party services
The app and website rely on the following providers to deliver specific functions:
- Google Firebase: authentication, App Check, cloud storage and sync, opt-in analytics, and crash reporting.
- RevenueCat: in-app purchase and premium-entitlement management.
- Sentry: error monitoring and performance diagnostics.
- PostHog: website product analytics and masked session replays.
- Google and Apple: optional sign-in services.
- Apple App Store and Google Play: payment processing, purchase records, and restoration of purchases for the iPhone and Android apps.
- Paddle: payment processing for purchases made in the web app. Paddle is the seller of record for those purchases and handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your full card number.
These providers process information under their own privacy policies and may retain records as required to provide their services or comply with law.
6. Advertising and tracking
Pass Georgia does not contain third-party advertisements. We do not use advertising networks, data brokers, or cross-app advertising tracking, and the iOS app does not request the Apple Identifier for Advertisers. We do not use your study activity to build an advertising profile.
7. How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Information is disclosed to the service providers listed above only as needed for authentication, data sync, purchases, diagnostics, support, and other app functions. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users, or to investigate fraud, abuse, or a security issue.
8. Data retention and deletion
How to delete your Pass Georgia account
In the Pass Georgia app:
- Open the app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm. You may be asked to sign in again first.
If you no longer have the app installed, email ktaukheer@gmail.com from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my Pass Georgia account". We will delete the account and its data within 30 days and confirm by email.
Deleting your account removes your sign-in, study progress, notes, results, preferences, account status records, and support requests. Records of purchases are kept by Apple, Google, Paddle, or RevenueCat under their own retention rules, and a record that you paid is kept so a purchase can be restored if you sign up again.
Managing data without deleting your account
You can manage app information directly from Settings:
- Delete Account: removes your Firebase Authentication account and the account-owned data stored for you in Cloud Firestore, including study progress, notes, reports, support requests, results, and preferences. The app also clears local user data.
- Reset All Progress: clears local and synced study progress while keeping your account and device-level settings.
- Browser data: clearing site data in your browser removes progress saved by website tools on that device.
Purchase and transaction records held independently by Apple, Google, Paddle, or RevenueCat may remain subject to their retention requirements. Security logs, crash reports, and records we must keep for legal purposes may also remain for a limited period.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access or request a copy of personal information associated with your account.
- Correct inaccurate account information.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Disable optional usage analytics.
- Use the app in limited guest mode without creating an account.
- Withdraw notification permission through the app or device settings.
To make a privacy request that you cannot complete in the app, email us from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.
10. Children's privacy
Pass Georgia is designed for adults preparing for a professional licensing exam. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete it.
11. Notifications
The app may request permission to schedule local study reminders. Notifications are optional and can be changed in the app or device settings. Reminder scheduling happens on your device; we do not use notifications for third-party advertising.
12. Security
We use safeguards designed to protect information, including:
- Encrypted transmission over HTTPS.
- Firebase security rules that restrict account data to authenticated users.
- App Check and platform attestation to reduce unauthorized access.
- Rate limiting and secure local storage around account access.
- Diagnostic-data filtering intended to reduce personal information in error reports.
No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please use a unique password and protect access to your device and sign-in accounts.
13. Changes to this policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy as the website, app, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate notice in the app or on the website.
