How to use a custom quiz well
Narrow it. A quiz spanning every area tells you your average, which you already know. A quiz covering the one area you keep losing tells you whether last week's work moved anything, which is the only question worth asking mid-preparation.
Once your areas are even, stop narrowing. Switch to the mixed timed mock, because the real exam intermixes both outlines and never announces which area a question came from.
