How to Schedule Your Georgia Real Estate Exam With PSI

You register directly with PSI and pay the $175 fee for one attempt, then choose a test center and date in Georgia. You cannot book until your 75-hour pre-license course is finished, including its proctored school exam. The date you pick should also sit inside the 60-day validity window of your GCIC criminal history report.

Before you can book

  1. Finish the 75-hour course, including the proctored school exam at the end. What the course involves.
  2. Plan your GCIC report timing. It must be dated within 60 days of your exam, so order it after you have a date in mind, not before. How the background check works.
  3. Have your identification ready. The name on your registration must match your IDs exactly.

Picking a date, honestly

The most common scheduling mistake is booking to create pressure. Picking a near date so that you will be forced to study. It works for some people and costs $175 for the rest. The better sequence is to establish readiness first, then book.

The two clocks worth tracking

The GCIC clock: 60 days from the report date. Get it too early and it expires before your exam.

The post-pass clock: once you pass, the licence fee is $170 within 3 months, $340 between 3 and 12 months, and after 12 months the result expires entirely. That clock starts on the day you pass, not the day you decide to do something about it.

Choosing a test center

PSI operates test centers across Georgia, including in the Atlanta metro area and in cities such as Macon and Savannah. Choose for a calm morning rather than the shortest drive: a center 20 minutes further away with parking you understand beats a closer one you will arrive at flustered. Test center locations.

After you book

Read the exam day checklist at least a week beforehand, not the night before. Two of the four things on it. Matching identification and a valid GCIC report. Cannot be fixed on the morning.

What do I need before I can schedule the Georgia exam?

Your 75-hour pre-license course must be complete, including its proctored school exam. PSI will not let you register before that.

How much does it cost to schedule?

$175, paid to PSI, covering one attempt. A retake costs the same again.

Can I reschedule my Georgia real estate exam?

Rescheduling is possible, but the notice window and any fee are set by PSI and can change. Check the current bulletin before you book if there is any chance your date will move.

How far in advance should I book?

Far enough that your preferred test center and time are available, but not so far that your GCIC report expires before the date. Two to four weeks out is the practical window for most candidates.
