Georgia Real Estate Exam Format: 152 Questions From Two Outlines

The Georgia real estate salesperson exam has 152 scored multiple-choice questions: 100 national and 52 Georgia-specific. Both portions are intermixed in one sitting. PSI may also include 1 to 10 unscored experimental items, which do not count toward your score but do use your time.

How the Georgia exam is scored

The Georgia salesperson exam has 152 scored questions: 100 from the national outline and 52 from the Georgia supplement, intermixed in one sitting. Your result appears on screen when you submit, showing a total score with a national and a Georgia subtotal beneath it.

Two portions, graded independently. There is no combined score and no compensation between them. This is the single most important structural fact about the exam.

Where the weight actually sits

34% of the exam is Georgia law. 52 of 152 questions come from the Georgia supplement, covering BRRETA, security deeds, attorney closings and Georgia taxes. No national question bank covers that material.

52 of 152 questions come from the Georgia supplement. That is 34% of the paper, testing law that appears on no national outline. Another lap through national flashcards does nothing for it.

Put differently: the Georgia portion is 34% of the questions and carries half the risk of failing. A candidate who splits study time evenly between the two portions has already under-weighted the one more likely to end their attempt.

How much time do you get per question?

The current bulletin does not publish a time limit, and we would rather say that than repeat a number we cannot source. PSI confirms your appointment length when you book. Whatever it is, the practical strategy holds: move quickly through recall questions and bank time for multi-step math.

What the screen looks like at PSI

A computer-delivered, four-option multiple-choice interface with a running timer, a question counter, and the ability to flag and revisit items. The two portions are intermixed rather than delivered in blocks, so a Georgia licence-law question can follow a national financing question with no warning. Practising in mixed mode rather than by topic is closer to what test day feels like.

Calculator policy

A basic calculator is provided at the test center. Personal programmable calculators are not permitted. Confirm the exact wording in the current PSI Candidate Information Bulletin before exam day, since device policies are the sort of detail that changes without announcement.

When do you find out if you passed?

Immediately. Your result appears on screen when you submit, with a per-portion breakdown showing how you performed by content area. If you pass, you can purchase your licence at the test center the same day. If you do not, that same diagnostic report is the most valuable study document you will ever get. It tells you exactly what to fix.

Format questions, answered

Facts checked against the current PSI Candidate Information Bulletin and GREC sources. Last reviewed August 2026. Editorial standards.

Are there really 162 questions on the exam?

There can be. 152 are scored and up to 10 unscored pretest items may appear in each portion. Pretest items are indistinguishable from scored ones, so answer every question as though it counts.

Is the Georgia real estate exam multiple choice?

Yes. Every question is multiple choice with four options, delivered on a computer at the test center. There is no essay or oral component.

Do I get my result immediately?

Yes. Your result appears on screen the moment you submit, with a per-portion breakdown. If you pass, you can buy your licence at the test center the same day.

Can I skip questions and come back?

Yes. The delivery system lets you flag items and revisit them within the time limit. With four hours for the scored items, there is room to flag the long math stems and return to them.
