A sponsoring broker is the Georgia broker with whom a salesperson or certain other licensee affiliates so the license can be active and the licensee can perform brokerage activity through that broker.
How do you separate the nearest exam answer?
Sponsorship describes the licensee's affiliation. Qualifying broker describes responsibility for a firm. In many settings the same person fills both roles, but the concepts are different.
What changes or stays the same in Georgia?
A salesperson cannot lawfully practice independently between broker affiliations. Commission records and the required filing control active status.
After passing and completing licensing steps, a salesperson joins a brokerage and files the broker affiliation needed to activate the license.
A verbal job offer from a brokerage does not by itself establish active license status.
